Welcome to Lockdown Project Cessna 172
N75822 has been part of the family now for many years so it was time to treat my original 1976 Cessna to some well needed TLC
The first task was to remove all the original paint back to bare metal. Then red oxide sprayed all over for the anti corrosion layer inside and out.
Next was the application of the green primer and also the fitting of new thicker grade tinted windows. The old ones had become cloudy with age.
Now was a good time to remove the instrument panel ready for a sympathetically designed look of the era. The white base paint was then sprayed on.
The instrument panel was then made and materials sourced for the interior to match the upcoming paint scheme. Even mahogany armrests were handcrafted.
Extra touches for the prospect of some touring in the future!
The final paint design was pondered for many months with some live changes but we think this final one is just right!
So nearly finished and moved into her new home. Just waiting for the annual sign off and test flight.

SkyEcho2 fitted for ADSB in and out
The SkyEcho2 was neatly fitted in a prime signal spot to provide ADSB in and out. Traffic info displays on SkyDemon with location upgraded to WAAS!
Two great gauges added to improve spatial awareness are the Dynon D3 EFIS & the aircrew gauge displaying traffic, compass & A/H
AirWolf STC installation - remote spin-on filter replaces old screen type.
